Preparations are underway for "UFC Fight Night: Fiziev vs. Torres" set to take place on June 27 at the National Gymnastics Arena. Amid this, two Azerbaijani sports stars - UFC fighter Nazim Sadykhov and world-renowned gymnast Tofig Aliyev - came together for a meeting.
The meeting was held at the training facility of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation. Sadykhov's arrival was a surprise for young gymnasts, who had the chance to meet and talk with the UFC fighter up close.
Aliyev introduced Sadykhov to the sport of tumbling, demonstrating elements from his training program. In turn, Sadykhov shared details about his preparation for the upcoming fight in Baku. Both athletes wished each other success in their future competitions.
Tofig Aliyev is known as the first gymnast to successfully perform a combination of triple somersault and triple twist, one of the most complex elements in tumbling.
During the meeting, the athletes exchanged gifts: Sadykhov gave Aliyev UFC gloves, while Aliyev presented him with his gymnastic shoes.
They concluded with a commemorative photo. Despite representing different sports, both are united by a common goal - to represent Azerbaijan with dignity on the international stage and contribute to the country's sporting achievements.
