Argentine specialist Sebastian Beccacece has officially left his position as head coach of the Ecuador national football team.
According to Oxu.Az, the expert's thoughts on this decision were published by the portal 'Cancha Ecuador'.
'With the end of the World Cup, our contract also expired. Unfortunately, we couldn't achieve the best result in our history at the tournament. Not reaching this goal with such a friendly and united team is very painful. Now I have to say goodbye to this wonderful family,' the head coach emphasized.
It should be noted that the Ecuador team bid farewell to the tournament after losing 0:2 to the Mexico national team in the round of 16.
Recall that Beccacece, who was appointed to the Ecuador national team in 2024, is 45 years old. Under his leadership, the team scored 4 points in the group stage and finished third. Ecuadorians lost to Ivory Coast (0:1), drew with Curacao (0:0) and won against Germany (2:1). In previous years, Beccacece also coached Argentina's Defensa y Justicia, Independiente, Racing and Spain's Elche.
