Belgian young cyclist Yilke Michielsen passed away at 19 after a long battle with cancer.
According to a post on her social media, she was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma three years ago.
Forced to end her sports career due to the illness, Michielsen announced in early May that she had stopped chemotherapy as it was ineffective and exhausting.
In 2022, she became the Belgian junior champion in road cycling and also won the national championship in omnium.
