England midfielder Jude Bellingham made a controversial gesture during the 2026 World Cup group stage match against Ghana (0-0).

He covered his mouth with his hand while addressing opponent Jordan Ayew. According to new rules, such an act can result in a straight red card.

However, the English star escaped punishment. Earlier, Paraguay's Miguel Almirón was sent off via VAR for a similar incident.
