I respect Kazakh fighters.
Oxu.Az reports that this was stated by Charles Johnson from the USA, who will face Kazakh fighter Asu Almabayev at UFC Fight Night.
He noted that Asu is a great fighter: "He is known all over the world. I have a lot of respect for Kazakh fighters. I have faced many athletes from Kazakhstan, but this fight will be especially different. My professional boxing background doesn't help me much in UFC fights. It should be noted that my boxing career was when I was 21, in the past. Actually, I have not only boxed but also practiced Muay Thai in Thailand. Therefore, I am ready to knock out my opponents."
"During my time in Azerbaijan, I haven't been able to taste your food because I am preparing for the fight and eating special meals. But after the fight, I will try to find something to eat. Your people are very nice and well-groomed. Everywhere in Baku is very neat and clean," Johnson said.
Recall that this year UFC Fight Night will take place on June 27 at the National Gymnastics Arena. In the main fight of the night, Azerbaijani representative Rafael Fiziev will face Manuel Torres in the lightweight division. In the second main fight, middleweight Sharabutdin "Shara Bullet" Magomedov will face Michel Pereira.
As part of the tournament, Azerbaijani fighters Tahir Abdullayev, Nazim Sadykhov, and Farman Hasanov will also step into the octagon. They will face Brazilian Jefferson Nascimento, Brazilian Mateus Camilo, and American Eric Nolan, respectively.
