Curacao's national football team has made history by entering the Guinness World Records. They are the least populous country to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to Oxu.Az, Guinness announced this on social media platform X. The certificate was presented to Gilbert Martina, president of the Curacao Football Federation.
Located in the Caribbean, Curacao has a population of only 156,115 people. This is the lowest among all countries that have reached the World Cup finals.
Curacao qualified for the World Cup for the first time. They are in Group E alongside Germany, Ecuador, and Ivory Coast. In their first match, they lost 1-7 to Germany. Their next game is against Ecuador on June 21.
