Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has set a new record for the most appearances in Grand Slam men's singles tournaments.
According to Oxu.Az citing TASS, the Serbian faced Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the first round of Roland Garros.
With this, Djokovic made his 82nd Grand Slam appearance, breaking the previous record.
The previous record of 81 appearances was held by Swiss Roger Federer and Spaniard Feliciano Lopez.
The 39-year-old Djokovic is currently ranked fourth in the ATP rankings.
He has won 101 ATP singles titles, including a record 24 Grand Slam titles among men.
Djokovic is also the 2024 Olympic champion, 2008 Olympic bronze medalist, and 2010 Davis Cup winner.
He also holds the absolute record for most weeks as world number one: 428 weeks.
