In the third round of Group G of the World Cup, Egypt faced Iran, ending in a 1:1 draw.
With this result, Egypt advanced to the next round, while Iran still has a chance as one of the best third-placed teams.
The final minutes were dramatic: Iran scored in added time, but the goal was disallowed for offside after a VAR review.
Former AFFA refereeing committee chairman Khagani Mammadov commented: "The decision was correct. Only one defender was ahead of the attacker, and with the goalkeeper out of position, it was offside."
