Famous Turkish football commentator and former referee Erman Toroglu has been acquitted.
He was tried for publicly spreading false information to mislead the public.
Galatasaray club was the complainant in the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Toroglu faced trial over statements he made on a TV program in February.
The prosecutor's office believed his remarks could cause confusion and harm trust in state institutions.
It was reported that he faced up to three years in prison.
