Law enforcement officials are conducting searches at the headquarters of the German Football Association (DFB) in Frankfurt and at administrative buildings in several German cities.
According to Bild newspaper, the operations are related to suspected bribery during the 2024 European Football Championship (Euro 2024).
The investigation specifically targets a 66-year-old German citizen and a 46-year-old French citizen.
Thousands of match tickets and invitations are alleged to have been illegally provided to certain individuals. Such actions are considered a "systematic granting of privileges" and could be viewed as bribery.
Searches have been carried out in Berlin, Hamburg, Gelsenkirchen, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Munich, Frankfurt, and Stuttgart, as well as at the offices of three companies in North Rhine-Westphalia and Bavaria.
