Former Liverpool striker Divock Origi has announced his retirement from professional football.
According to Oxu.Az, citing Sport24.ru, Origi said in a statement: "As a player, I achieved my goal in football. I realized my childhood dreams - I performed in the biggest arenas and won the most prestigious trophies. I am grateful to God for all this. The mission is complete. Now a new destiny awaits me. The journey continues."
The 31-year-old Belgian striker made 175 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 41 goals. He was part of the team that won the UEFA Champions League in the 2018/19 season and the Premier League title. He also won the FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.
Additionally, Origi played for AC Milan, Lille, Wolfsburg, and Nottingham Forest during his career.
