Four-time Formula 1 champion Alain Prost was injured during a home invasion at his house in Nyon, Switzerland. The incident occurred on the morning of May 19.
Masked intruders broke into the driver's home. In the ensuing physical struggle, Prost suffered a head injury. His son was forced under threat to open the family safe.
Details of what was stolen are not yet revealed. Swiss police are conducting a large-scale investigation, with French police also involved due to the possibility the perpetrators fled abroad.
Prost is a four-time world champion (1985, 1986, 1989, 1993). After retiring, he ran his own Prost Grand Prix team from 1997 to 2001. Known for his precise driving and calculated race strategy, he earned the nickname "The Professor".
