FIFA has approved Iran's request to relocate its base from the US to Mexico for the World Cup. Iran Football Federation President Mehdi Taj made the announcement.
Taj stated that the team will camp in Tijuana, near the US-Mexico border on the Pacific coast. "We will settle in a camp in Tijuana, located near the Pacific Ocean and the US-Mexico border," he said.
Iran will play all three group stage matches in the US. The team is grouped with Belgium, Egypt, and New Zealand.
The tournament runs from June 11 to July 19 across the US, Mexico, and Canada, featuring 48 teams for the first time.
