The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has banned the use of vuvuzelas at the 2026 World Cup matches in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
According to Oxu.Az, citing the "Sportsnet" TV channel, the ban also extends to whistles, horns and other loud objects.
Musical instruments larger than 12 cm will require prior written permission from tournament organizers to be brought into stadiums.
The vuvuzela, a long, trumpet-like instrument, gained popularity at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Due to its loud, monotonous sound, it has been banned at many sports events worldwide.
The 2026 World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19, featuring 48 teams for the first time.
