The FIFA Council Bureau has decided to hold the first U-15 Boys' World Championship and the 2026 Festival in Azerbaijan.
According to Oxu.Az citing AFFA, the tournament will take place from October 22 to 31. U-15 teams from FIFA member associations are eligible to participate.
FIFA considered Azerbaijan's modern sports infrastructure, international-standard facilities, and successful experience in organizing major events when making this decision. This reflects Azerbaijan's growing reputation in world football.
Notably, FIFA established the U-15 World Championship in December 2025. Additionally, the final stage of the 2027 U-20 World Championship will be co-hosted by Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
