Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has announced a complete rupture of relations with Barcelona due to the refereeing scandal.

Famous journalist Fabrizio Romano shared Perez's words on social media. Perez stated, "I cut all ties with Barcelona. For 20 years, I want no contact with a club that bought referees. I want justice to prevail in the 'Negreira case'."

The 'Negreira case' involves Barcelona paying between €7.3 and €8.4 million from 2001 to 2018 to Enrique Negreira, former vice-president of Spain's Technical Committee of Referees. The prosecution alleges the payments were to ensure referee loyalty, while Barcelona claims they were for legitimate technical reports.

Notably, on May 10, Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 2-0, clinching the league title early.
