Britain's "Opta" analytical company's supercomputer has reassessed and increased France's chances of winning the 2026 FIFA World Cup ahead of the round of 16.

Currently, the French team's probability of winning the tournament is estimated at 28.89%. Although this figure was 18.66% after the group stage, France was already considered the main contender for the final victory.
The top three leaders also include Argentina (16.32%) and Spain (12.96%). It should be noted that after the round of 16, Argentina's chances increased slightly (previously 16.26%), while Spain's probability of winning the title decreased (13.47%).
The top ten likely winners also include Brazil (9.11%), England (8.14%), Portugal (5%), Colombia (3.38%), Morocco (3.21%), Norway (2.86%), and Mexico (2.68%).
Recall that the round of 16 matches will be held from July 4 to 7. The first match of this stage will take place on Saturday between Canada and Morocco. The match is scheduled to start at 21:00 Baku time.
The World Cup, co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico, will conclude on July 19. It is worth noting that the tournament's last winner and current champion is the Argentina national team.
