Germany national team midfielder Joshua Kimmich revealed that he and his teammates spotted a venomous snake near their training camp in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA, ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
"Yesterday we saw a snake and were told it is venomous. If it bites, we need to go to hospital immediately. I have the feeling that stepping on one could end badly. So we try to stay away from local animals. I have a deep respect for them. In Germany, there aren't as many dangerous animals," said the Bayern Munich defender.
Germany kicked off their 2026 World Cup campaign with a 7-1 victory over Curaçao on June 14. They next face Ivory Coast on June 20 and Ecuador on June 25 in Group B.
