French coach Hervé Renard has announced his departure as head coach of the Tunisia national football team.
He shared the news on his Instagram account. Renard was appointed on June 16, after Tunisia lost 1-5 to Sweden in the first round of the World Cup group stage.
Under his guidance, Tunisia lost 0-4 to Japan and 1-3 to the Netherlands, failing to advance past the group stage.
Renard said: "I thank the Tunisian Football Federation for the opportunity to participate in the 2026 World Cup. My adventure ends here."
The 57-year-old previously left the Saudi Arabia national team before the World Cup. He has coached Morocco, Ivory Coast, Angola, and Zambia, winning the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast and Zambia.
