Iran national football team players have obtained visas to participate in the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
According to Oxu.Az citing TASS, Iran's Ambassador to Turkey, Mohammad Hasan Habibullahzadeh, announced that the visas were issued within 48 hours without the players' personal presence or fingerprinting at the Mexican embassy.
On May 24, Iranian Football Federation President Mehdi Taj confirmed that FIFA approved moving Iran's World Cup base from the USA to Mexico.
Iran will play all its group stage matches in the USA. The team is placed with Belgium, Egypt, and New Zealand. The tournament runs from June 11 to July 19, featuring 48 teams for the first time.
