Bryan Bergougnoux, former Lyon player and France youth international, has passed away at the age of 43.
Olympique Lyonnais announced the news on social media: "Olympique Lyonnais is deeply saddened to announce the death of club legend Bryan Bergougnoux. The club is devastated by this terrible news and extends its sincere condolences to his family, loved ones, and all who knew and loved him."
Bergougnoux won three French league titles and two French Super Cups with Lyon. The midfielder also played for Toulouse, Lecce, and other clubs.
In December 2023, he was diagnosed with parotid gland cancer.
