Argentina national team captain Lionel Messi has appeared in a promotional video for Sony Pictures' new film "Spider-Man: New Day."

According to Oxu.Az, the studio shared the video on social network X.

In the video, Messi enters a store in New York and meets Peter Parker (played by British actor Tom Holland).

Surprised, Parker falls to the ground and then asks Messi what he is doing there. Messi shows an app on his phone and says he is looking for Spider-Man. Parker then secretly puts on his superhero costume and asks Messi if he is afraid of heights.

The Argentine footballer, speaking only Spanish throughout the video, does not understand the question. In the next scene, he is flying over New York with Spider-Man.

The world premiere of the film is scheduled for July 29.

Notably, Lionel Messi leads the 2026 World Cup scoring chart with six goals. Argentina will face Cape Verde in the round of 32 on July 3 in Miami.
