A Mexican sports official, Ulises Bernal, has been dismissed after making a racist gesture during a 2026 World Cup match.
According to Oxu.Az citing the New York Post, the incident occurred in Guadalajara during a game between the Czech Republic and South Korea.
While South Korean blogger Yun Su Jin was filming reactions to his team's victory, Bernal stood behind him, squinted his eyes, and laughed, which was deemed racist.
Bernal was immediately removed from his post. The match ended with South Korea winning 2-1.
The World Cup runs from June 11 to July 19 in the US, Mexico, and Canada.
