Vusal Isayev, a member of the Azerbaijan national minifootball team, stated that the match against Serbia was the toughest test of the tournament.
The champion of the European Minifootball Championship in Slovakia commented during the team's welcome at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku.
Isayev said: "After the group stage, we faced strong opponents. We ended up in a bracket with world and European champions. Our goal was to reach the final. As the reigning world champion, we had great responsibility."
He praised the federation for providing training camps in Baku and Montenegro: "We prepared very well. Our minimum target was the final, and we are grateful to have won the championship."
Regarding the toughest match, Isayev noted: "The game against Serbia was our hardest. They were physically strong, have played together for years, and analyzed us well. We couldn't fully display our style and suffered a lot, but won on penalties."
