Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch has died at the age of 41.
The organization's press service issued an official statement:
"With deep sorrow and pain, we announce the death of two-time Cup champion, one of the greatest and fearless racers of our sport, Kyle Busch. He was only 41 years old. We extend our condolences to the Busch family, Richard Childress Racing team, and the entire motorsport community."
The exact cause of death has not been disclosed. However, it was known that the driver had been hospitalized earlier due to a serious illness.
Kyle Busch began his NASCAR career in 2003. He won the NASCAR Cup Series championship in 2015 and 2019. In 2023, he was recognized as one of the 75 greatest drivers in NASCAR history.
