New York defeated San Antonio 94:90 in the fifth game of the NBA playoff final series, winning their first championship since 1973.

According to Oxu.Az citing TASS, the series, played to four wins, ended 4:1 in favor of New York.

This is the club's third NBA title, with previous championships in 1970 and 1973.

Last season's champion was Oklahoma.
