Football stars Neymar and Lionel Messi have contributed to relief efforts for victims of the devastating earthquake in Venezuela, transferring large sums for humanitarian needs.

According to Oxu.Az, citing the publication "El Sumario," Brazilian footballer Neymar donated $250,000 to support rescue and humanitarian operations.

The funds will be used to provide food, drinking water, medicine, and temporary shelter for the victims. Lionel Messi's family also joined the aid. In addition to the player's personal donations, his wife Antonella organized a public fundraising event.

Currently, approximately $5.4 million has been raised through the campaign, which will be used to support the affected regions.

Recall that on the evening of June 24, an earthquake struck Venezuela. Two tremors of magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 were recorded about 40 seconds apart. Their epicenters were located in Yaracuy state, 10 kilometers apart. A total of 214 aftershocks were recorded after the earthquake.
