Pope Leo XIV addressed fans ahead of the 2026 World Cup, emphasizing solidarity and mutual support.

In a social media post, he wrote: “Football reminds us that life is not a solo race. Those who can’t pass don’t yet understand the game.”

The tournament, hosted by the US, Mexico, and Canada, runs from June 11 to July 19.

Current champions Argentina defeated France in the 2022 final.
