Portugal forward Rafael Leao was sent off in a friendly match against Chile after striking an opponent in the face.

The incident occurred in the first minute of added time in the first half. Leao first pushed Chilean defender Ivan Roman several times, then punched him in the face.

Both players received red cards for unsportsmanlike conduct.

The match in Portugal ended 2-1 in favor of the hosts.

Portugal is preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, while Chile failed to qualify.
