Real Madrid announces election date

Real Madrid has officially announced the date for the club's presidential election.

The election will take place on June 7. Voting will be held from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM local time at the club's basketball pavilion.

Two candidates will compete: current president Florentino Pérez and businessman Enrique Riquelme.

Notably, this is the first time since 2006 that at least two candidates are running for the club's leadership.
