The World Cup round of 16 match between Mexico and England will be accompanied by an unprecedented security operation.
According to The Daily Telegraph, this will be the largest police operation ever for an England national team match.
Around the Azteca Stadium, 7,500 police officers will be deployed. For comparison, the Euro 2020 final at Wembley had four times fewer police.
Mexico City expects millions on the streets, and about 8,000 English fans are already in the capital. Many English are avoiding wearing shirts with the three lions emblem. In total, 40,000 security personnel will be involved.
