South Korea faced the Czech Republic and secured a 2-1 victory.

All goals were scored in the second half. The Czechs took the lead in the 59th minute, but South Korea responded with goals in the 67th and 80th minutes.

In the other Group A match, Mexico beat South Africa 2-0.
