An Independent Disciplinary Commission has expelled Southampton from the Championship playoffs after the club admitted multiple breaches of regulations.
The English Football League announced the decision on its official X account. The club was accused of spying on Middlesbrough's training session before the first semi-final.
Southampton had won the tie 2-1 on aggregate, but now Middlesbrough will face Hull City in the playoff final.
Additionally, Southampton will start the next Championship season with a 4-point deduction.
