"For me, no rival matters. I am very happy." These words came from Tahir Abdullayev after defeating Brazil's Jefferson Nascimento at the UFC tournament in Baku.
"I knew three weeks ago I would fight in the UFC. I thank all the people of Azerbaijan. In the second and third rounds, I told the rival, 'Don't run like a girl, come and fight.' When his coach said something to me, I responded, 'Come closer, I'll knock you down too.'"
The athlete noted he always enters fights with a march: "This song inspires me. Fighting in Azerbaijan gave me extra energy."
Recall that in the main fight of the night, Azerbaijan's Rafael Fiziev will face Mexico's Manuel Torres. Also, Nazim Sadykhov fights Brazil's Mateus Camilo, and Farman Hasanov takes on USA's Eric Nolan.
