AFFA has confirmed that "Turan Tovuz" has been excluded from UEFA competitions for the 2026/2027 season.
According to Oxu.Az, the organization issued an official statement.
The penalty stems from a past incident. UEFA based its decision on the AFFA Disciplinary Committee's ruling from December 13, 2019, regarding the involvement of Turan Tovuz players in match-fixing. The case was referred directly to UEFA's Appeals body to assess the club's participation in the Conference League for the 2026/2027 season.
Based on the UEFA Appeals body's decision on June 2, 2026, the Tovuz representative was deprived of the right to participate in the UEFA Conference League for the 2026/2027 season.
Recall that back in 2019, during the First Division, seven Turan Tovuz players were banned from all football-related activities for their involvement in the match-fixing scandal: Sanan Gojayev, Misir Rustamov, Emin Baghirov, Ilkin Sadigov, Rufat Mammadov, Eltay Taghiyev, and Shahin Guluzade.
