The World Boxing Cup has kicked off in Guiyang, China.
According to the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation, two Azerbaijani athletes entered the ring on the first day.
In the 50kg category, Subhan Mamedov defeated India's Rishi Singh 5:0. His next bout will be on June 19 against an Uzbek opponent.
In the 60kg category, Mahammadali Asiraliev beat Poland's Jakub Krzpeiti 3:2. He will face Brazil's Luis Gabriel on June 17.
Note that the Azerbaijani team has eight boxers participating in this tournament.
