The Ukrainian Football Association (UFA) has officially announced the appointment of a new head coach for the national team.
Italian specialist Andrea Maldera will take the helm. The candidacy was approved by the UFA Executive Committee based on the submission of the National Teams Committee.
The contract signed with Andrea Maldera is for two years with an option to extend. This marks the first time in history that a foreign coach will lead the Ukrainian national team.
It is noted that the 55-year-old expert has worked as an assistant head coach for Italy's Milan, England's Brighton, and France's Marseille. He also served as an assistant to Andriy Shevchenko in the coaching staff of the Ukrainian national team from 2016 to 2021.
