Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler Yusif Abdullayev won a gold medal at the U15 European Championship in Samokov, Bulgaria.
Competing in the 38 kg weight category, our athlete faced Georgian representative Rezi Yobidze in the final. Abdullayev dominated the decisive match, winning 10:0 to claim the European champion title.
On his way to the final, Yusif defeated Ukrainian Ivan Vasilkov 10:0, Armenian Norayr Gevorgyan 11:0, and Belgian Mohammed Bisultanov 13:1.
Elman Ismayilov (41 kg) lost to Bulgarian Simyon Velikov in the final, and Adem Guliyev (52 kg) lost to Russian Badruddin Magomedov, both winning silver medals. Mohammed Karimov (44 kg) beat Belarusian Aleksandr Hamov 16:6, and Yusif Huseynov (62 kg) defeated Russian Zaur Najmudinov 5:0 to win bronze medals.
