Intuit is laying off about 17% of its workforce, roughly 3,000 employees, to streamline operations and focus on AI initiatives.
CEO Sasan Goodarzi told staff in an email that reducing complexity and simplifying the structure will help deliver better products.
The company, set to report third-quarter results, has signed multi-year deals with AI startups Anthropic and OpenAI.
Affected U.S. employees will leave on July 31 and receive 16 weeks of base pay plus two extra weeks for each year of service.
Intuit had about 18,200 employees in seven countries as of July 31, 2025.
This year, over 140 tech companies have cut more than 111,000 jobs, raising concerns about AI replacing roles.
