Austin, Texas - Three suspects have been taken into custody after a dozen shootings over the weekend in Austin that left four people injured, police said.
The Austin Police Department announced late Sunday that a third suspect was apprehended by Manor PD.
Earlier, Police Chief Lisa Davis said two juveniles, aged 15 and 17, were in custody following 12 shooting incidents in south and east Austin on Saturday and early Sunday.
Davis said four people were struck, with one suffering serious injuries and three sustaining minor injuries.
The 15-year-old stole a gun from a store on Saturday, while the 17-year-old had an outstanding warrant for theft of a gun from the same store.
The suspects stole more than four vehicles as they moved through Austin. A third young Hispanic male fled from the car when the two juveniles were apprehended, according to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.
Davis said motives for the shootings are unknown and the investigation is ongoing. Two incidents involved shooting at fire stations, with a truck hit at one. Other shootings targeted residential buildings.
