FIFA Secretary-General Mattias Grafstrom will meet Iranian FA officials in Istanbul on Saturday to offer reassurance over Iran's World Cup participation, a source told Bond.az.

Iran is scheduled to play all three group matches in the US, but its participation has been in question since US and Israeli attacks on Iran in late February.

Further doubts arose after FFIRI President Mehdi Taj was denied entry to Canada for the FIFA Congress due to his links to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

US and Canada, co-hosting the World Cup with Mexico, classify the IRGC as a terrorist entity and will not admit those with links to the force.
