Mexico's Senate on Friday approved a constitutional amendment to include foreign interference as a reason to annul elections.

The amendment defines foreign interference as illicit financing, propaganda, systematic disinformation, digital manipulation, and intervention by foreign governments.

The lower house had already backed the measure on Thursday.
