The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed that one American has tested positive for Ebola while working in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The CDC is working with the State Department to transfer the patient to Germany for treatment. Dr. Satish Pillai, incident manager for the CDC's Ebola response, stated that the risk to the United States remains low.
