The U.S. announced new sanctions on Iran's military oil trade on Thursday, despite a tentative ceasefire agreement between Washington and Tehran.
The Treasury Department sanctioned eight vessels involved in transporting Iranian crude oil and petroleum products. These include the Marshall Islands-flagged tanker Flora, Comoros-flagged tanker Hauncayo, and Panama-flagged tanker Ill Gap.
"We will not allow the Iranian government to increase its oil revenue to rebuild its military," Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in a statement.
Sanctions also target over 15 entities, including Worth Seen Energy Limited in Hong Kong, Symphony Shipping in Dubai, and Mehdiyev Trading Co in Hong Kong.
