The Czech Constitutional Court has ruled in favor of President Petr Pavel.
The government led by Prime Minister Andrej Babiš must ensure the president's participation in the upcoming NATO summit in July.
This was reported by "Aktuálně.cz".
At a session on June 24, the Constitutional Court decided that the Cabinet must enable the president to join the Czech delegation at the NATO summit and provide necessary cooperation and organizational support.
The judges emphasized that presidents' participation in NATO summits is a long-standing state practice that must be preserved.
The decision comes after months of dispute between the president and the government over who should represent the Czech Republic at the NATO summit in Ankara in July.
The Babiš government had decided to send the prime minister himself, along with the defense and foreign ministers. This prompted President Pavel to take legal action.
Pavel argued that representing the state abroad is one of his constitutional powers and the government cannot unilaterally prevent his participation.
