The UK has recorded its hottest June day ever, with temperatures reaching 35.7°C, breaking the previous record of 35.6°C set in 1976.
The temperature was measured in Surrey, according to the BBC. This marks a new national record after 50 years.
Spain also experienced extreme heat, with the highest average June temperature recorded at 28.17°C, surpassing the previous record of 28.08°C. In some regions, temperatures exceeded 40°C, with Cantabria hitting 43.7°C.
Experts warn that the anomalous heatwave across Europe may continue in the coming days.
