The number of Ebola virus infections in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda has reached 397, with 63 deaths.
This was reported by Jean Kaseya, head of the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
“According to the latest data, 381 cases have been confirmed in Congo and 16 in Uganda,” Kaseya said.
Kaseya noted that this epidemic ranks fourth in complexity in history.
Doctors have screened approximately 10,000 people who had contact with infected individuals: 4,341 in the DRC and 5,009 in Uganda.
Recall that on May 17, the World Health Organization declared the spread of Ebola in Congo and Uganda a public health emergency.
