Returning a lost item to its owner is considered one of the noblest human deeds. But what does the law say?
Today's topic of Oxu.Az's "What does the law say?" section is about demanding a reward when returning a lost item.
The issue is regulated by the Civil Code. According to Article 183.3, if the rightful owner accepts the found item, the finder can demand a reward of up to 5% of the item's value.
Additionally, the finder can demand reimbursement for the costs of storing the item. However, if the finder concealed the found item, they lose the right to a reward.
