A man armed with an axe and a knife has been charged with five counts of attempted murder in connection with an attack in Edinburgh.
According to the BBC, 36-year-old Lewis Hawkes faces terror-related charges.
The incident occurred on June 19 at around 8:50 PM near a mosque in western Edinburgh, where two people were injured.
The suspect then attacked three more people, damaged vehicles, wrecked a store, and broke into a pizzeria.
Police said the victims, aged 22 to 39, are not in life-threatening condition. The counter-terrorism unit is assisting the investigation.
Hawkes shouted that he was "defending the country" when detained. He remains in custody, with the next hearing in eight days.
