Jeffrey Donaldson, former leader of Northern Ireland's Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), has been found guilty of 18 sexual offenses, including rape.
According to Oxu.Az citing TASS, the verdict was delivered by a jury at the Crown Court in Newry.
The 63-year-old politician was accused of crimes against two victims between 1985 and 2008. His wife Eleanor Donaldson, 60, was also convicted of aiding the offenses.
The couple was arrested in March 2024 but denied all charges. Donaldson resigned as DUP leader shortly after.
Judge Paul Ramsey indicated a lengthy prison sentence is inevitable.
